That was great. How did you get such a film-look out of the XL1? It looks like it was filmed in 35mm. Was it mostly from editing software, or the camera? Sorry about all of the question, I just want to know how to make something look like that with DV.

In each shot thier was a 700w red-head light blasting the actors on a hard spot, all I did was ajust the exposure to the actors face. I think the main problem with the canon xl is that every one shoots with the gain set to automatic or 0db, the view finder is also sh*t and I always manage to take the footage down about stops even tho it looked fine in the viewfinder. always have your gain set to -3db and use a light on your subjects inside and outside, the better u light your shots when using the canon the better the colur corrections turn out in post. hope that helped.
